In any case this is not the way necromancy is used today. Whoever works on this kind of prediction of the future, tries to get in contact with the dead by means of a séance. A medium, who is in trance, is told the answers, that are asked by the persons present. Other spiritists try it with a so-called Ouija-Board, a board with letters, on which a pendulum or a pen glides from to letter to letter, and so words result. The automatic writing is also part of this kind of prediction. You set yourself in a trance-like state and wait that the hand that holds a pen writes down words 'by itself', that were practically received by the sub-conscious. The moving of tables or glasses belongs to the same category. It is always the dead, that are 'called'.\n\nSuch practices should be left up to professionals. Never, under any circumstances should one try to try to perform  them as a lay man. Untrained and sensitive natures might be harmed, because it might be difficult for them to distinguish between their perceptions, the reality and illusions."}

function ck() {
document.syl.content.value = "Ask the Oracle\n\nOn New Year's Eve everyone likes to take a look at the future. Our suggestion for 'Bleigiessen' is one way, and here is another.\n\n Oracle-Cookies\nThe American fortune-cookies have been very popular since many years. No one really takes these aphorisms seriously, but they never remain unread. Apparently their origin goes back to the aristocratic society of the old China, but the Americans also claim the right of their invention. These epigrams reach from rather trite statements to mystical-miraculous prophecies. It's left to your phantasy, what epigrams you chose. You can also get some suggestions from our section about 'Bleigiessen'. Write or draw a symbol on small strips of paper, make up some epigrams, that match your guests...\n\nAnd here is the recipe:\n\n2 eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla or 1/2 tsp. almond flavor, 1/4 cup oil, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1/4 cup of water\n\nStir the eggs with a mixer, add sugar and stir at the highest level until the mixture is frothy and smooth. Add the flavor and fold in the oil. In a bowl mix together the water with a part of the egg mixture till it's smooth, then add the rest of the egg mix. Lightly grease skillet or griddle with cooking oil. For each cookie pour 1 tbs. of batter in the skillet or griddle and spread to an 4-inch (10 cm) circle. Preheat the oven and cook over medium heat about 2 1/2 minutes from each side. Turn them as soon as the edges turn brown. Take the cookies off the griddle one by one. Working quickly while the cookie is still soft, put a fortune in the middle and fold the cookie in half, and press the even sides together.\n\nAnother possibility to surprise your guests by giving them a symbol for this special evening is, to make donuts filled with small objects. In addition to the dough you need small presents, e.g. little plastic animals, that symbolize a strength or quality (eagle, lion, pig, unicorn etc.), glass beads or fortune stones, lucky pennies etc. Look for other suggestions in toy shops and use your imagination. The small objects are wrapped in aluminium foil and baked with the donuts.\n\nHere is the recipe:\n\n500 g(1.1 lb)flour, 15 g(1/2 ounce) fresh or dry yeast. 1/4 l(1/2 pint) milk, 20 g(3/4 ounce) sugar, 1 pinch of salt, 1 egg yolk, 1 egg, 50 g(1 3/4 ounce)butter or margarine, icing\n\nMake a depression in the flour, sprinkle the sugar around the edge, crumble the yeast in the centre, and mix a dough with lukewarm milk to begin with. Sprinkle some flour over it, cover it with a cloth, put it in a warm place and let the dough rise. The dough has to look porous and should have doubled in bulk, this takes 10-20 min. according to warmth. Add the other ingredients afterwards, the butter or margarine should be soft, but not molten.  Mix the dough well, unless it's shiny and comes off easily. Shape little balls in which you place the symbols wrapped in tin foil. Let the dough balls sit for another 30 min. (covered with the cloth). Deep-fry them in a pan or a deep fryer, till they are golden-brown. Lift them out of the fryer, and let them drip on a paper towel, and sprinkle icing on top. At midnight every guests takes one or more donuts. The symbols can be interpreted according to the phantasy of your guests, or maybe to our suggestions."}
