The different lines:

The physical line concerns our resistance, bodily functions, strength and coordination. Knowing their best day can be extremely useful for athletes if they want to reach their top form. The phyiscal cycle has a period of 23 days. The peak of the positive days and thus the day days are the 5th and the 6th day, while the negative phase reaches its lowest point on the 17th day. The critical days are those on which the curve crosses the center line twice, namely on the 11th and 23rd days. These are the critical days.

The emotional line controls our frames of mind, creativity, temperament, conflict resistance and psychic health. It has a period of 28 days. The best day is the 7th, the lowest the 21st, and things may get critical on the 14th and 28th day.

The intellectual line represents logical and anaytical reasoning as well as memory. The positive peak is reached on the 8th, the negative on the 24th and 25th, and the critical period on the 16th and 23rd day.

You can have your biorhythm calculated and have a look at how much the rules of Nature affect you and your general state of mind an your well-being. It would be interesting to identify the cycle that influences you most and that you feel less. It may help you on critical days to take it easy and to save your strength so that you can take the edge off these days.

Biorhythm was (re-)discovered at the beginning of the 20th century. Fragmentary records analyzed by scientists from a totally different point of view show that the Ancient Egyptians, Mayas and Greeks already had some ideas how different forces were correlated. The Greek physician Hippocrates (460-377 BC) mentioned this mysterious correlation to his pupils, and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the literary genius, knew about so-called "good" and "bad" days.
Research on this topic was based on the idea that all forms of life produce energy which can theoretically be measured. Energy absorption and release in nature follows cyclic rhythms. The gravitational pull of the moon, the day/night rhythm , the seasons and the menstrual cycle are some examples. Many scientists deal with cyclic rhythms, that is periodically recurrent operational sequences. The following conclusion can be drawn from their research: our lives are affected by three primary cycles, a physical, an emotional and intellectual. All three are of a certain period, follow sine wave cycles and start at a middle point when we are born.

How do these rhythms affect our well-being? And what can we learn from then?

Positive phase - To the right of the center line is positive, to the left negative. Generally speaking, the more positive a cycle is at any given point in time, the better one is able to interact in that arena, comparable with the waxing or the full moon. In the negative range, the cycle in question is in a so-called recuperative phase during which the influence is diminished, giving us the possibility to build up our strength. Analogically, this phase can be compared to the waning or new moon. This can best be seen at the highest and lowest point of a given cycle. Days in which a curve crosses the center line are known as critical days. On these days, things are more likely to go wrong, because we are weaker and more fragile than usually.
